Established in 1956, the CBC Merit Awards honor significant contributions to the building industry in the Chicago area. The awards highlight outstanding projects across nine categories, which include recreation, education, residential, commercial, healthcare, and renovation and adaptive reuse. Representatives of the finalist projects have the opportunity to make a presentation to judges before final selection. Projects on the 2020 finalist list include the Chicago Riverwalk Esplanade Improvements and the University of Chicago Keller Center. The awards will be presented at a May 14 gala.
